What To Do In Hong Kong, Day Trip Itinerary

Hong Kong is a dynamic city with a mix of modernity and tradition! There are endless things to eat and see in HK but if you really must spend only one day, here’s an itinerary for a memorable day trip to Hong Kong:

Morning: 8:00 AM — Start your day with a traditional Hong Kong-style breakfast at a local tea house or dim sum restaurant.

9:00 AM — Victoria Peak:

  • Head to Victoria Peak, one of Hong Kong’s most iconic attractions. Take the Peak Tram or a bus to the top for breathtaking views of the city skyline.

Late Morning: 11:00 AM — Explore Hong Kong Park:

  • Descend from the Peak and walk to Hong Kong Park. Visit the Aviary, the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, and take a stroll through the beautiful gardens.

Lunch: 1:00 PM — Dim Dim Sum Dim Sum Specialty Store:

  • Have lunch at a dim sum restaurant. Dim Dim Sum Dim Sum Specialty Store in Sheung Wan is a popular choice for delicious and authentic dim sum.

Afternoon: 2:30 PM — Star Ferry and Tsim Sha Tsui:

  • Take the Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour to Tsim Sha Tsui. Enjoy the panoramic views of the skyline during the short ferry ride.

3:30 PM — Explore Tsim Sha Tsui:

  • Visit the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui area. Explore Nathan Road for shopping, and don’t miss the Avenue of Stars along the waterfront.

Late Afternoon: 5:00 PM — Kowloon Walled City Park:

  • Head to Kowloon Walled City Park, a historical park that preserves the remnants of an ancient Chinese military outpost.

Dinner: 7:00 PM — Temple Street Night Market:

  • Have dinner at the Temple Street Night Market in Yau Ma Tei. This vibrant market offers a variety of street food and local delicacies.

Evening: 8:30 PM — Symphony of Lights:

  • Head back to the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront for the Symphony of Lights, a spectacular light and sound show that illuminates the Hong Kong skyline.

9:00 PM — Sky100:

  • Visit Sky100, an indoor observation deck on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre (ICC) in West Kowloon. Enjoy panoramic views of the city.

10:30 PM — Conclude your day trip to Hong Kong. You can return to your starting point or explore Hong Kong’s vibrant nightlife in areas like Lan Kwai Fong or SoHo.
